Baum has a great point view and unique perspective on interpreting universal values and putting them into written form.
In wizard of Oz, he drew attentions to couple of them (global values). What an outstanding example of loyalty!
Dorothy throws the wealthiness, well living into world's face and prefers her own town, where she used to live in poor condition, natural disaster could occur and comprise anytime.
A Scarecrow would turn down ruling the Kingdom to pay his loyalty to Dorothy.
Likewise, a Tin Man, woodman, he could've been the king of Winkies, in the end he did, though he preferred Dorothy instead of the kingdom.
Similarly, a lion, cowardly, would've been the King of the Animals, in the end he did, however, he aimed to help Dorothy till the end she sets off back to Kansas.
Well done Baum! It's a great book for people at all ages.
